Choose the report type
A parser report describes an expression that should be accepted or rejected under the documented grammar. An arithmetic report challenges a displayed result, step order, rounding line, remainder identity, or reciprocal form. An accessibility report identifies a control, focus path, status announcement, contrast issue, zoom problem, or screen-reader experience. A privacy report concerns disclosed state or network behavior. A rights report identifies content or imagery that may require review.
General requests for financial, medical, tax, legal, engineering, or academic answers are not support topics. The site supplies a basic arithmetic tool, not expert interpretation or a homework submission service.
Prepare a safe reproduction
Start with the exact route, such as /tools/online-calculator or /tools/rounding-calculator. Include the browser and operating system version when the issue may be environmental. State whether you used the keyboard or on-page controls, then list the shortest steps needed to reproduce the behavior.
Replace real numbers with small public values. If 83,742.19 is confidential, demonstrate the same syntax with 12.5. If the issue concerns a long tape, create three invented lines rather than attaching the original. Include the expected result and the actual visible result in plain text.
A useful report might read: “On the core tool in Firefox, enter 2(3). The page accepted it as multiplication, but the contract says implicit multiplication should return an operator error at index 1.” That report is precise, safe, and testable.
Worked accessibility report
Suppose the result state changes after Enter, but a screen reader announces nothing. The reporter writes the route, browser, screen reader and version, input method, and sequence: focus Expression, type 8 ÷ 4, press Enter, wait, then continue navigating. They state that the visual result was 2 but no success message was announced.
The reporter does not need to share a recording containing other tabs, names, or notifications. A cropped screenshot may be useful only after unrelated information is removed. Text steps are preferred because they are searchable and easier to minimize.
Support can compare the behavior with the contract: “Line evaluated locally and added to tape” should be announced without moving focus. A reply may request one more environmental detail, but it should not request account credentials because the site has no account.
Arithmetic corrections need the convention
When challenging a result, include the tool’s stated convention. A percent report should note that postfix % divides its immediate operand by 100. A rounding report should name the selected place and rule. A remainder report should identify how quotient rounding is defined. A division report should include the display precision.
This prevents two valid but different conventions from being mistaken for one defect. If the on-page explanation is unclear even when the result follows the contract, report that as a content problem.
Do not email an enormous expression. The product has explicit size limits, and support does not need stress-test payloads from an unknown source. Describe the boundary and ask before sending more.
What email changes about privacy
Calculator inputs stay in page memory because the tool has no content API. Sending an email is a separate voluntary disclosure. The message, address, headers, and attachments pass through email infrastructure and may be retained for support, security, rights handling, and legal obligations.
Share only what is necessary. Ask for correction or deletion where applicable, understanding that legal, security, and backup constraints can limit immediate removal. The Privacy page explains the current data paths; it does not turn email into a private calculator channel.
Response and resolution boundaries
Support is not live chat, emergency service, tutoring, or a guaranteed response-time product. Messages are reviewed according to operational capacity. A reproducible security or privacy issue may be prioritized, but no bounty, confidentiality agreement, or deadline is implied unless separately agreed in writing.
A support reply can explain the documented grammar, confirm a defect, request safe details, correct copy, or state that a request is outside scope. It cannot recover a refreshed tape or memory register because those values were never stored by the site.
